[ It is hot. And while Akito and Agito are both still confused, they've acclimatized to the situation at this point. They have an Eevee curled up happily in their arms, even as Akito stares at the Pokégear with a mix of curiosity and worry.
Eventually Akito decides that introductions are in order. When he speaks it's with a soft, feminine voice that matches his face. When will he hit puberty? We just don't know! ]
Ah... Hi! I'm Wanijima Akito, from Shinjuku, Tokyo. I'm sixteen! And in um... New Bark Town. So if it's like the original games' set-up then the route leading out of town would have Rattata and Pidgey, and maybe Spearow too, I think. I haven't played the games in a long time...
I haven't given my Eevee a nickname yet, but I was thinking of maybe calling it A-T. If it's like normal starters then it should be level five, which means that training in Route 29 for a while would be a good idea...
[ He trails off in thought for a moment before snapping his attention back to the Pokégear. ]
..It's good to meet you!

akito! and tags will be sporadic until Thursday, but I'll do my best to respond in a timely manner.))

It's a lot different from the games, actually. You'll find some different Pokemon in those routes, but they're a lot like Rattata and Pidgey. Actually...you might even find them too if you really want 'em.
[Larry was going to stop there, but then he realizes introductions would probably be good since this kid introduced her(?)self.]
I'm Larry, by the way. Nice to meetcha. If you've got any questions, a lot of us have been here for a while so we can probably help.
What kind of Pokémon are they? They shouldn't give my Eevee too much trouble, ne?
Hi! Um, how long is a while?
[As for the question about time spent here...well, he almost looks embarrassed when he answers.]
Some of us are going on three years being stuck here. It'll be three for me in August.
[ He... doesn't really know what to say to that, so he'll just furrow his brows a bit in concern. ]
Three years?
[He frowns a bit at Akito's reaction to the amount of time he's been here. Yeah, he really doesn't like it either...]
Yep, you heard me right. Three years. Johto's pretty random with how it sends people home and dumps them in.
[ pre-planning a team is a go! ]
..Eh? What do you mean by sending them home and dumping them in?
[His expression remains somewhat thoughtful.]
Well, it's all done at random. Some of us have been stuck here for years, while some are only here a few weeks or months before being sent back home. No one really knows how it's all done.
[ He'll just... nod. and pretend like that made any sort of sense. ]
Okay. Thank you for the information!
You got it. After him, the types are Bug, Normal, Ghost, Steel, Fighting, Ice, and Dragon. Pretty different from the games, but there's always ways to get the upper hand on them.
[Larry looks pretty pleased about getting to talk about so much strategy-related stuff.]
They're pretty sweet, yeah. You might be interested to know that Eevee has a Dark type evo too. It's called Umbreon; you should see if you can look it up on your 'Dex.

You know a lot more than I did starting out. Name's Jack Frost. This place is weird, but it could definitely be worse.
So what's A-T mean?
((So, yeah, funny story. Here I was wondering why I hadn't seen your intro post yet, and oh, look, it's because I totally forgot to friend this journal. A good job is Plague. -_- Better late than never, though, right?))

Jack Frost? It's good to meet you! I played the original games a lot when I was little, so I know some useful things about Pokémon already, like type-advantages and stuff like that...
[ He trails off a bit, less and less certain that this whole thing is just some virtual reality and that his friends are going to turn up any minute. But he'll just tighten his arms around A-T and smile and pretend like his hope isn't wavering. ]
A-T is short for Air Trecks! Mine didn't quite make it to this reality 100% intact, but I think she makes up for it, ne?

Yeah, they're pretty fun. So you heard of this place before you got here, too? I remember some kids mentioning it, but if it's not an outdoor game, I usually don't pay much attention. Guess I should have this time.
no subject
There was never anything dangerous in the games, so there's that small comfort at least, ne?
no subject
[Suddenly, he's reminded of the bonfire and laughs.]
Mostly there's nothing dangerous, here, but sometimes stuff happens anyway.
no subject
[ he lets out a thoughtful hum. ]
Considering the abilities of the Pokémon I know, there are probably a lot of real-world applications for them that are both helpful and dangerous. Like Flareons are generally not the best evolution for Eevee in terms of battling, but practical use of its abilities would be really good! Like using it for cooking, and a heater, and cauterizing wounds if necessary...
[ oops too much tactical thinking-- ]
Um! So, what Pokémon do you have?
no subject
When it gets cold again here, people said it snows a lot, so we'll have a snowball fight. Just wait.
[...Right. There was a question there, huh? That didn't involve snowballs.]
Anyway, yeah. I've heard of lots of people using their pokemon for all kinds of stuff like that. [Well, maybe not the cauterizing part, that's a tad strange.]
I've got... uh... five, right now? I've only been here a couple months, though. I've got Phil over there. [The camera swivels to take in Phil the Seel lounging on top of someone, looking even more dead than Jack.] He was my Starter.
And I've got Patch. She's a Pachirisu. Dingle. Sophie and Monty. [He's counting on his fingers by the end there to make sure he includes everyone. He'll figure out that Akito can't psychically know what they are eventually.]
no subject
...Eh? A Seel? I've never heard of anyone getting one for a starter! It's one of the better water-types I think - it learns lots of ice-type moves, so Grass Pokémon don't leave it at a whole disadvantage... Then it evolves into a good Water/Ice combination, if I'm remembering it right!
I've never heard of a Pachirisu before though. What type is it?
no subject
[And now he's going all proud-daddy at Phil getting a compliment like that. He's not sure if it's true or not, but he likes it.] Yeah, Phil's already learned some really neat moves. But Patch...
[He looks around and finally up, smiling when he catches sight of her in the branches above his head.] Hey, Patch, c'mere.
[Behold, the OTHER lightning rodent. She all but drops out of the tree, crawling into Jack's lap to see the screen.] This is Patch. She's an electric-type.
no subject
She's so cute!
no subject
I've had her since she was an egg. She's the first one I ever hatched. Only one I ever hatched, actually.
Right, anyone tell you about the breeding place yet?
no subject
[ but that makes no sense. not... that any of this makes sense at all anyway. oops. ]
Ah... No - you're only the second person I've met so far!
