[ It is hot. And while Akito and Agito are both still confused, they've acclimatized to the situation at this point. They have an Eevee curled up happily in their arms, even as Akito stares at the Pokégear with a mix of curiosity and worry.

Eventually Akito decides that introductions are in order. When he speaks it's with a soft, feminine voice that matches his face. When will he hit puberty? We just don't know! ]

Ah... Hi! I'm Wanijima Akito, from Shinjuku, Tokyo. I'm sixteen! And in um... New Bark Town. So if it's like the original games' set-up then the route leading out of town would have Rattata and Pidgey, and maybe Spearow too, I think. I haven't played the games in a long time...

I haven't given my Eevee a nickname yet, but I was thinking of maybe calling it A-T. If it's like normal starters then it should be level five, which means that training in Route 29 for a while would be a good idea...


[ He trails off in thought for a moment before snapping his attention back to the Pokégear. ]

There's a lot of 'em, yeah. You'll catch a bunch while you're traveling, too. Are you a trainer or a breeder?

[ NO DON'T LAUGH because it's actually really attractive - enough that Akito starts to take notice. And quickly tries not to continue noticing. Because he likes Ikki-kun, even if it's 110% hopeless. ]

Ah- Breeder? No, I'm a trainer! Breeding sounds like it could be fun too though.

[Too late! He already is! But don't worry. Jack's terrible at noticing people noticing.]

A couple friends from my world who came through with me are breeders. Last I saw, they were in Cherrygrove still. That's the next city you'll run into.

You have friends from home here with you?

Well, not with me. Like I said, they're hanging out in Cherrygrove. But yeah, there's a couple others from my world here.

I'm not the only one. I guess it happens sometimes. Whatever's pulling us here grabs more than one.

Where are you, if you're not with your friends?

[ he pauses here, hopeful. ]

..Could some of my friends be here too, but not have ended up in the same place as me?

...Somewhere outside Violet City. [Maybe. Don't ask him to get any more specific.]

Anyway, maybe? As far as I know, everyone ends up in New Bark Town, but maybe they got here before you. Or'll get here later?

A few of 'em. I just got Monty the other day. He's a Wooper.

[He doesn't know if that one is a well known one of not, but how can you not catch something that cheerful?]

That's the blue one that looks kind of like a tadpole with antennas for ears, ne?

Route... uh... Route whatever it is, outside of Violet City.

Well, sort of on the Route.

Violet City is the one that comes after Cherrygrove, ne?


Ah... You did some off-road exploring?

Sure is. And I got Sophie on the way to Violet. Sometimes you just meet ones that seem like they want to hang around.

Off-road... yeah, I guess you could say that's what we're doing.

That sounds nice! I hope I meet some that would like to hang around.

[ -- to which A-T responds by giving the underside of Akito's chin a lick. he laughs and scratches her behind the ear. ] Aside from you, at least!


It sounds like it would be fun, provided the weather was a bit different.

Lots of people'll be in Cherrygrove. I bet some of them will be looking for partners.

[Jack hadn't been, and look at that, he'd gotten one anyway.]

Yeah, the... the weather could be nicer. At least I only feel like I'm melting instead of actually doing it.

Maybe I'll find someone who would want to travel with me. [ he doesn't have much hope for it though. ]

You usually melt in the heat?

Not literally, but it sure feels like it. Back home, I'm not exactly human, you know.

Well, if you manipulate weather and have been alive for so long, I'd be more surprised if you were one!

There's some people here that are really horses back home. After that, nothing's weird.
